20mm, Regiment of Voltigeurs 2pc jacket button with "Scovills & Co/Waterbury" rmdc backmark.  A non-dug Eagle "V" is the key to the US Regulation set and rare.

The Voltigeurs operated during the Mexican American war, but these buttons are found at Civil War sites due to their re-use by Confederate troops (particularly Virginia and Louisiana).
