Nice, early Crossbelt Plate bearing the enameled , script letters "BLG."  This unlisted militia plate retains its original pin and clasp on the reverse and would have been used on a white linen crossed web belt.  There was a Massachusetts camp found at Baltimore, MD years ago by Gil Barrett where some plain breastplates similar to this in shape were found.
