Post-Civil War Virginia Belt Plate. The face is an exact match and it has the right look but it is made heavier than the wartime examples and has late nineteenth hook attachments...  it may have have gone to Cuba with Fitz Lee but it didn't ride the Valley with him!!! Laughs.  
It is a good looking display piece and is indistinguishable from the front in an exhibit case and cost less than 20 percent of of the slightly earlier version. It is over a hundred and twenty-five years old in its own right and a Virginia antique.
