Virginia style sheet brass militia breast plate.

This was found in Ashland, VA by my friend and veteran relic hunter Woody Tucker.  Woody has dug Civil War relics for more than fifty years.  He found both these pieces in Ashland, but they did not necessarily come from the same plate.  They are both correct to form (if not each other) and the pin has been nicely re-attached.

The Richmond, Fredericksburg, and Potomac RR line ran through Ashland which was an important RR town outside Richmond and the Ashland Accomodation was a train that ran between Richmond and Ashland with stops along the way from the antebellum years to pass the Turn of the Twentieth Century.
