23mm, Dug Baltimore City Guard Button, "Scovill Mg Co/Waterbury." backmark. This is a rare button to encounter in dug condition.  This one has a slick, smooth, dark patina.  It is missing Shank, but has the premium 1850's "small letter Scovill  MG around outside edge of button" and even patina.
