22mm, Louisiana Confederate Local Manufactured button. This is the scarcer style marked "Bellenot & Ulrich N.O." Dug with a light (and very gentle), vertical push between the pelican's neck and right wing. The button shows some rim loss on the back side (some of which seems to be irregularities or manufacturing flaws--other is subsequent loss) but the button has never been apart and is solid and there is no threat of it coming apart.
