16mm, pewter cuff button made for a member of the United States 16th Infantry Regiment. It has broken, but there is a clear "16" at center mass. The button maintains it's shank though has eroded over time. These buttons were made 1798 to 1802 and are still found at some War of 1812 sites. These are great buttons and this one is affordable and has an unusually high regimental number.
