Union News Company coat button with a wartime "Extra/Quality" backmark. This is the first one that I have seen this button either in dug or nondug condition. It was found at the RR Depot that was the staging area for the Union Army prior to the Battle of North Anna. A quick Google search would suggest a post war date of establishment, but a 1940's matchbook for sale on Ebay (picture attached) shows it to have been established in 1864. I think this one is a "sleeper" but, given that it has some rim damage, I have priced it accordingly.
