20mm, Confederate Lined Roman "A" Artillery button with a "P. Tait & Co/Limerick" backmark. This has the "Pull-out" style shank unique to P. Tait buttons.  The design was an innovation and helped to allow them to withstand packaging and shipping Trans-Atlantic better without denting.  The gentle wear on this button bears testimony to its service during the War for Secession.
